Professional development courses for participants of the transition to a new system of solid waste management

On January 25, 2021 in Moscow at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia professional development courses for participants of the transition to a new system of solid municipal waste (MSW) handling started.

The courses are conducted by request of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH within the framework of the Russian-German project "Climate-neutral waste management in the Russian Federation".

Representatives of ministries, departments, nature-consuming enterprises, higher education institutions, public environmental organizations will take part in the distance learning program from January 25 to January 28, 2021. Specialists of Moscow, Moscow region, Republic of Tatarstan, Kaluga, Kursk regions involved in the Solid Waste Management system management will be trained under the educational program "Creation of Sustainable System of Solid Waste Management in Russia: Theory and Practice" developed under the GIZ project.

The distance education is conducted with the use of up-to-date video communication means.

The training enables the students to get acquainted with the legal foundations of the branch of waste treatment both in Germany and in Russia; study the experience of Germany on the fundamental principles of the system of waste treatment; learn how the systems of waste treatment regulation work at the federal, regional and municipal levels; study the principles of extended producer responsibility and specific features of regulation of waste treatment from product use; consider strategies and principles of territorial schemes of waste treatment  

Teachers at professional development courses are the leading experts in the branch both scientists, and representatives of the state authorities and business, among which leading experts in the field of management of system of the waste treatment of Perm national research polytechnic university, the Russian university of friendship of the people, the Peter the Great St.Petersburg polytechnic university, the Moscow road university, Rosprirodnadzor and others.

At the end of the training the trainees will pass a final certification and receive a state certificate of course completion.
