FPKP RKI is one of the leading schools of modern linguodidactics.
The faculty was founded in 1967 as the country's first center of additional education for Russian philologists. Today, his activity is connected with the development of new directions in the methodology of teaching RCT.
The Center works closely not only with regional Russian universities, but also with universities in Asia and the CIS: Heihe University, Harbin University of Science and Technology, China Petroleum University, and the University. Jawaharlal Nehru (New Delhi), Delhi University (Delhi, India), Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. Abylai, Kyrgyz National University. Zhusup Balasagyn and the Tajik National University.
The faculty is headed by Tatyana Mikhailovna Balykhina, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Academy of Sciences, IAS VS, New York Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. She is one of the first researchers in the field of assessing the quality of language education, teaching Russian, based on the achievements of the theory of pedagogical measurements.
Teachers of the FPKP RCT conduct additional education programs for students in Italy, Greece, Argentina, China, Tajikistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Every year more than 1,800 teachers of Russian as a foreign language and 3,000 foreign students attend the faculty.
The faculty’s programs have been developed using innovative technologies, in particular the case-study method. Classes are held in the form of a panel discussion and a pyramid discussion. Students are introduced to such modern teaching methods as scribing, storytelling, pedagogical web design of ESP, creation of mind maps and time tapes, they are taught to develop their own lessons using these technologies. The training uses multimedia and interactive programs and video content.
The participants of the programs are the Laboratory for the Development of Modern Teaching Materials (LSRSM), a computer class equipped with a video broadcasting system, IP cameras, an interactive display, a TV and 20 modern MSI laptops, as well as an audience with a projector and a screen .
